Overview
This Biometric Data Policy explains how Holistic AI LLC Doing Business as Transformational AI LLC ("TAI," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects voice data when you use our voice journaling feature. This policy is provided in compliance with the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), 740 ILCS 14, and similar state laws.
What Voice Data We Collect
When you use TAI's voice journaling feature, we collect:
- Audio Recordings: Temporary recordings of your speech for the purpose of transcription.
- Text Transcripts: The converted text from your voice recordings, which is stored as your journal entry.
Illinois Residents (BIPA Notice)
If you are an Illinois resident, the following disclosures apply under the Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14):
- Type of Data: Voice recordings (audio data)
- Purpose: Speech-to-text transcription for voice journaling
- Third-Party Processor: Mistral AI (Voxtral transcription service)
- Retention Period: Audio recordings are deleted immediately after transcription completes (typically within seconds)
- Destruction: Audio data is not stored by TAI or our transcription provider
How Voice Data Is Processed
- You tap the microphone button to begin recording your journal entry.
- Your voice is captured by your device's microphone and transmitted securely (via TLS encryption) to our transcription service.
- Mistral AI (Voxtral) processes the audio and converts it to text.
- The audio recording is immediately deleted after transcription.
- Only the text transcript is returned to TAI and saved as your journal entry.
What We Do NOT Do
- We do NOT create "voiceprints" or biometric identifiers from your voice recordings.
- We do NOT use voice data for identification or authentication purposes.
- We do NOT store audio recordings on our servers.
- We do NOT sell, lease, or trade voice data to any third party.
- We do NOT use voice data to train AI models.
Third-Party Transcription Service
We use Mistral AI's Voxtral service for speech-to-text transcription. Key details:

Data Security
We protect your voice data with industry-standard security measures:
- TLS 1.3 encryption for all audio transmissions
- Secure API connections to transcription service
- No audio storage on TAI servers
- Immediate deletion after transcription
Your Consent
Before using voice journaling for the first time, you will be asked to provide informed consent. By consenting, you acknowledge:
- You have read and understand this Biometric Data Policy
- You consent to the collection and processing of your voice for transcription
- You understand that audio is sent to Mistral AI for processing
- You understand that audio is deleted immediately after transcription
You may withdraw your consent at any time by disabling voice journaling in your account settings.
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your voice data:
- Right to Opt Out: You can choose not to use voice journaling. Text journaling is always available.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: You can disable voice journaling at any time in Settings.
- Right to Information: You can request information about how your voice data has been processed.
- Right to Delete: Since we don't store audio recordings, there is nothing to delete. Text transcripts can be deleted with your journal entries.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Biometric Data Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we handle voice data, we will notify you by email and/or in-app notification and request new consent if required by law.
